About McDonald Contracting

McDonald Contracting is a second generation Australian owned family business, employing up to 10 employees.

McDonald Contracting was originally known as CMR House Movers and was established in 1969.  More recently the business was known as Robert McDonald and Sons.

In 2000 Shane and Mat McDonald moved forward with the business, however Rob is still heavily involved in our business, by doing so we bring together years of expertise and modern day technology.  Shane and Chantel McDonald now operate the business in which all family members are still involved.  Shane and Chantel pride themselves and their crew on the presentation of our fleet of trucks and trailers and our staff, who are by far the best crew that anyone could ask for.  We are a team and we all work together through all projects.

In 2011 McDonald Contracting enterted our fleet into the Museum of Fire Working Truck Show and we were awarded with the "Best Display" trophy.  Something that all of the McDonald Contracting staff and family can be proud of.

We pride ourselves in excellence.  We are a fully insured company.  We have a full Work Cover approved WH & S system and we are a Code Compliant company, which offers our customers the peace of mind that our employees are paid correctly and we are Australian Government approved.

We have a fleet of 2 Mack Trucks, 4 Axle TRT Specialised House Moving Platform Trailer, 3 Axle TRT Specialised House Moving Platform Trailer, Trix Axle TRT Low Loader Trailer, Giston Extendable House Moving Trailer, 1 TRT Converter Dolly, TRT Hydraulic Jacking systems, Isuzu Tool Truck, Case Skid Steer, Hyundai 21 tonne excavator, Case 4 tonne excavator, tipping trailer and various of other equipment to get our job done.

The work we take on varies from moving standard homes to the relocation of a 100 year old Ficus Tree in Toronga Zoo that other professionals said couldn’t be done!

In recent years McDonald Contracting have bettered their equipment to enable our company to be contracted to transport large government modular buildings for various government projects around Australia this is still a progress in work and will be for many more years to come.

We also relocate transportable buildings built by companies such as Bell Rivers Homes and various of invdividuals wanting their transportables moved.

We often complete work for the Australian Armed Forces relocating our soldiers homes/barracks and the relocation of various objects for high security training operations.  In most recent months we have relocated a train carriage within the terrorist training facilities of various Army Bases.  We have this year secured the relocation of various buildings in stages in the Army base.  This work is new and exciting for all of our crew and it is advantageous to our company working for such large companies who control these projects.

In 2011 and 2012 McDonald Contracting was awarded the relocation of numerous historic buildings at Villawood Detention Centre through the contract of Hansen Yunken, so in recent times our company has been accepted into the Commonwealth of Australia projects which was hard work but rewarding to say the least.
